This picture was taken for his text book that he wrote on General Nematology back in 1981.

To me it sounds funny that my dad actually wrote the text book (General Nematology, in 1981) that was used for a great many years at universities around the world.

I remember vividly as a young boy living at home, it seemed that every time a visiting professor (which came from all over the world) would come over to the house for dinner would all seem to ask me this same question.Do you know who my father is?

I always though what a strange question? So I would reply he is my dad? They would quickly correct me every time and say “Yes, but he is also a world famous Nematologist”. To me he was just dad, but to the Nematologists of the world he was famous.

I can tell you that you really never know how much some one means to you until they are gone.  I shall miss him very much, as will a great many people from all over the world.
